Highland
Park Located
approximately one mile north of Downtown Dallas, Highland Park is a "city
within a city" and consistently considered one of the most prestigious addresses
in the country as well as Dallas. Its lush, tree-lined streets and vast landscape
are a result of the original town plan developed by renowned landscape architect
Wilbur David Cook, who also designed Beverly Hills, California. The neighborhood
has extremely desirable public schools and excellent shopping and dining. There
are also wonderful parks, public tennis courts and swimming pool, and a public
library. The highly involved local citizens and active families create a neighborhood
environment that many families feel to be unmatched in the city. University
Park Immediately
north of Highland Park and five miles north of Downtown Dallas, University Park
has enjoys the same hallmarks of Highland Park: excellent public schools, convenient
shopping and public tennis courts, parks, and a swimming pool. As with Highland
Park, it is a separate town with its own schools and delightful family personality.
The neighborhood shares a love of the community and numerous families grow up
in "U.P.," and choose to raise their family within blocks of their family
home. Highland
Park Independent School District (HPISD) is a consolidated school district, serving
residents in both Highland Park and University Park. The district includes four
elementary schools, one middle school, one intermediate school and Highland Park
High School. It is recognized as one of the best public school systems in Texas
and in the United States with more than 95 percent of the district's students
attending college after graduation. |
